Section VI
Make it Fun (cont'd)

If you are in reasonably good shape, you might want to include some vigorous exercise.

For example, if you are playing tennis, try putting a dollar on the match. It will certainly increase your enjoyment and interest in the match, and your energy output.

If you do some jogging, try to finish with a strong kick. This will bump the aerobic aspect up a notch, and help increase HGH levels.

Ditto for swimming. After those leisurely lengths at the pool, finish up with a few speed lengths that leave you panting. If you want to really work on those muscles, try to add some weight training to your program. Be careful of injuries associated with extreme sports or body contact exercises, but we love our hockey and squash!

The most important thing, however, is to choose the kinds of exercise that you can enjoy. If you enjoy it, you will stick with it.

One of the best ways to make any activity more enjoyable is to do it with someone. So if you go for a jog, do it with a spouse, a soul-mate, a friend. If you tend to get bored with one kind of exercise, do more than one kind. Vary your routine.

You are in it for the long haul, so, whatever you do, make it fun. That way, you'll stick with it.
