Perhaps a sign of aging that is even more visible than wrinkles, is grey hair. Or hair loss. When we consider the number of hair dyes on the market today, we get something of an idea as to how important our appearance is.
Even more telling is the number of baldness "remedies" that have come down the pike over the decades. There are as many bald people as ever. We have seen in the Palm Springs data of Dr. Chein and Dr. Terry that there was some success in the regrowth of hair. But it is in this area that HGH has had some of its spottiest results. There has not been a great deal of research done specifically on the effects of HGH and hair regrowth - most have concentrated on more serious aspects of health. Having said that, there is, nevertheless, significant collateral evidence that HGH does have a partial effect in producing hair in areas that were previously balding. The Palm Springs study did, if we recall, show reports of 38% for new hair growth, which is considerably better than most products designed specifically to grow hair. Other studies, as well as those done at Palm Springs, have had patients and researchers alike remarking on how HGH brought about improved hair growth. And more studies yet reporting improved hair color, sometimes even to where the original hair color had been regained. Also, in many of these patients, the texture and luster of their hair had been restored to how it had been years earlier. Although much of the data on hair growth is anecdotal, it must be borne in mind that in most of these studies, hair growth was not the reason for the HGH therapy in the first place. Which is why a lot of the information concerning hair growth has not been gathered in a rigorously scientific manner. We continue to use other methods for hair growth stimulation, mainly the standard finasteride and minoxidil combinations, for male pattern baldness with moderate success. | ||
