Immortality (page 3/3)

To state categorically that immortality is impossible flies in the face of history. So many times in the past, when the majority has decreed something to be impossible, a brave pioneer - an inventor, and explorer, a dreamer - has come forth and demonstrated that this something was possible: the invention was possible; the voyage was possible; the dream was possible.

We cannot say with absolute certainty that we will ultimately attain immortality. That is for the future to decide.

But to the cynic who scoffs at the hopes and dreams of others, especially those dreamers who would strive to make the goal of immortality possible, we would say this: "Only those who see the invisible can do the impossible."

And we would set forth once more the words of William Blake: "What we know now is not the same that it shall be when we know more."

Because life is precious, we believe it is worth a little effort to extend its time.
It is worth a little effort to expand our years.

In reflecting on just how precious life is, we are reminded of the words written by Dylan Thomas. They were written by the poet as his father lay dying, symbolically directed to his father, entreating him to resist mightily the final falling of the curtain. He wrote:

"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Leaving you with these words, we wish you well with whatever program you may embark upon to extend your years.
And we hope to see all of you alive and well in the year 2100.
