Section III
Spring Morn, Spring Mourn

As if from a dream you awaken.
As if from a mist you arise.
You move to an open window where curtains are billowing softly in the breeze.
You look out the window upon a sunlit spring morning, trees and meadows in the distance, and in the courtyard below, standing in the streaming sun you see... yourself.

It is a younger you - you as you were ten or fifteen years ago - trim, muscled, almost athletic looking.
The skin on your face is taut and tanned, your smile beams, filled with the joy of simply being young.

You remember those days, and how it was, and how you were, and how good it all was.
So good that to see yourself like that again almost hurts.

Then a wind comes up, swirling leaves into the air that were left from last autumn, taking them round and round, higher and higher. The wind eases and the leaves begin floating down.

Now the courtyard is empty and you are gone.
There are only a few scattered leaves slowly drifting down through the air.

And peer as you may through the window, that person below is gone, that younger person you once were is gone...
As you look off over the fields there are no words in you, just a feeling, a deep poignant pang inside you that says... if only...

To date, HGH is the best bet in preventing the "If Only" Syndrome.
