The Endocrine System (cont'd)

HGH also affects the performance of the various endocrine glands themselves, and is able, in Dr. Chein's words:

"...to bring production of other hormones up to optimal levels. This feature works both ways, in fact, demonstrating that all hormones work synergistically with each other. If DHEA, melatonin, and estrogen are all at their optimal levels, they can stimulate the pituitary gland to produce and secrete a greater amount of HGH, restoring it to a more optimal level."

This interrelationship is most pronounced between HGH and thyroid hormone. Studies have shown that where levels of thyroid hormone are low, usually HGH levels are low as well. When the levels of HGH are raised with replacement therapy, there is a corresponding improvement in thyroid function.

Since HGH has shown such a widespread effect, not only on the cells and organs of the body, but on the endocrine system in general, maintaining optimal levels of HGH as we get on in years, will almost certainly provide an assist to the other hormones as well.

Further, maintaining our youthful levels of HGH is one of the simplest ways of promoting our hormonal health. Because, if it is true that a rising tide raises all ships, HGH is most certainly that rising tide.
