The Time Machine

You feel yourself waking slowly.
Eyes half open, you stretch your arms, your legs.
It feels good. Something so simple as stretching and it feels so good.
You open your eyes all the way and see the light streaming through the window.
The morning is calling you.

You slip your feet over the side of the bed,
stretch your arms once more for that good feeling, and then spring to your feet.

So many things before you: perhaps a jog through the park; a long walk down by the river;
or maybe down to the courts for some tennis, and then a good swim afterwards.
Perhaps all of it. For the day is yours to move through....

Can you remember mornings like that?

The eagerness, the anticipation? The body moving fluidly, effortlessly, painlessly?

When you could take on a day that had no limits?
